Amateur Events

Sunday June 1st: Senior Pro-Am

An 18 hole, one-day event.  Players compete in 4 person teams with 2 best balls.  Pairing is by blind draw.  Shotgun start.  The field is limited to the first 40 entrants. Tee time is 9:00 AM. Be at the starters booth in front of the Pro Shop before 9:00 AM. Players must be 50 years of age or older. Handicaps are limited to 36 for men and 40 for women.

Complimentary appetizers and cash bar will be held at Socorro Springs Brewing Company from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. This is is sponsored by Socorro General Hospital.

Monday/Tuesday June 2nd/June 3rd: Senior Amateur

Senior players 50+ compete in a two-day scratch amateur flight. The field is limited to 48 amateurs in three flights. The tournament is in conjunction with the Socorro Springs Senior Professional Tournament. Monday tee time is 8:00 AM, and Tuesday tee time is 7:30 AM. Flight one is a scratch flight of 16 entrants limited to a 6.0 handicap index.  Flights two and three are handicapped flights limited to players with a 25 handicap.  The tournament is limited to the first 48 entrants.  Eligible amateurs age 50 and over are qualified to participate. The tournament is in conjunction with the Socorro Springs Senior Professional Tournament.

A steak fry will be held at the Golf Course Pavilion after play on Monday at 5 p.m. This is sponsored by the New Mexico Tech Research and Economic Development

Wednesday June 4th: Socorro Springs Pro-Am

An 18 hole one-day event.  Players compete in 5 person teams.  There are 2 best balls, one low gross, and one low net.  Pairing is by blind draw, with a shotgun tee off. The field is limited to 25 professionals and 75 amateurs. Tee Times begin at 9:00 AM. Players meet at the starters booth in front of the pro shop. Field is limited to 25 professionals and 75 amateurs.

Complimentary appetizers and cash bar will be held at Socorro Springs Brewing Company from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. This is is sponsored by Socorro General Hospital.

Thursday to Saturday June 5th-June 7th: Socorro Springs Open

A 54 hole three-day event.  Eighteen holes are played each day.  Players are organized into flights according to handicap.  Scratch amateurs and professionals play in their own separate flights. Flights 2-6 tee times are from 7:00 AM - 8:50 AM from the white tees on Thursday & Saturday and at 12:00 PM-1:50 PM on Friday. Pros, Champs, and 1st Flights tee off at 12:00 PM - 1:50 PM on Thursday & Saturday and at 7:00 AM - 8:50 AM on Friday, from the blue tees and follow in increments. Players meet at the starters booth in front of the Pro Shop.  The field is limited to the first 60 entrants.

Thursday

Amateur flights 2-6 tee off at 7:00 AM from the #1 and #10 tees and follow in increments. Players meet at the starters booth in front of the pro shop. The Championship and First Flights will tee off before the Professional Flight at noon.

Friday

Amateur flights 2-6 tee off at Noon from the #1 and #10 tees and follow in increments. The Championship and First Flights will tee off before the Professional Flight at 7:00 AM. 

Breakfast will be held at the M Moutain Grill from 6:30-9 a.m. This is sponsored by Raks Building Supply

A BBQ dinner and dance will be held at the Socorro Plaza beginning at 5: 30 p.m. The bbq is from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. "Remedy" will from 6 - 9 p.m. This event is sponsored by the City of Socorro and is part of the 'Summer Bands on the Plaza' series.

Saturday

Amateur Flights 2-6 tee off at 7:00 AM from the #1 and #10 tees and follow in increments. The Championship and First Flights will tee off before the Professional Flight at noon. Awards Ceremony will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the New mexico Tech Golf Course Pavilion.
